April 17 is the next Education Day of 2020. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Reservations are required and there is a $5.00 per person charge. Students in grades 4 through 6 are encouraged as well as homeschooled students of all ages.
Students will watch our colonial past (from 1735 to 1785) come to life through demonstrations and living exhibits. Try your hand at colonial dancing or see if you are fit to join the militia! Featured attractions will include apothecary skills, pottery, weaving and spinning, candle making, butter churning, musket firing demonstrations, gunsmithing, blacksmithing, needlework, woodworking, and smoking/curing meat. Be sure to stop by and visit with the Indian traders, the baker, potter, backwoodsmen, milliner, tavern keeper, and the sutlers on Sutlers Row. Stop in to the Village Mercantile and New Windsor Cabinet shop to see the lathe that was used in the movie The Patriot.
